Charlotte is the largest city in the state of North Carolina. Total city population is estimated at 772,000 as of 2012. Total population in its metropolitan area, including 16 neighboring counties is well in excess of two million residents.

Charlotte is known for being the second largest financial center by assets. The city is home to headquarters for Bank of America, and has substantial operations for other banks such as Wells Fargo.

The city is also home for a professional basket ball team (Charlotte Hornets) and a NFL's Football team (Carolina Panthers). 

Also known for NASCAR's hall of fame and nearby motor speedway.
